Stool Collection for Microbiological or Parasite Studies
Stools for microbiologic or parasitologic studies should be
collected in clean solid containers with leak-proof tops. Avoid
Styrofoam and other open containers covered only with aluminum
foil. It is recommended that diapers not be submitted. Rather,
the specimen should be scraped off the diaper into an acceptable
container. Specimens for the identification of parasites should
be sent as fresh as possible.
